What are Chaos Credits?
Chaos Credits are a unified currency used across multiple Chaos products. They let you access cloud rendering, Veras, AI features, and cloud services from a single Chaos account.
Which features use Chaos Credits?
Chaos Credits are currently used for:
- Veras Image Generation
- Veras Image to Video
- AI Upscaler
- AI Enhancer
- Cloud Rendering
- Additional features may be added in the future.
How do I get credits?
Credits are included with every eligible subscription. Solo offerings include 100 credits/month, Premium includes 500, and Collection includes 1,500. You can also purchase additional credits packages (250, 1,000, or 3,000 credits) as a monthly or annual subscription without changing your plan.
How many credits does each operation cost?
Costs range from 5 credits (Nano Banana 2 at 0.5k) to 35 credits (Nano Banana Pro at 4k). AI Upscaler and AI Enhancer Full each cost 20 credits. Cloud Rendering costs vary by scene and settings.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Credit-consuming features will be unavailable until more credits are added. Your organization's Admin can upgrade to a higher subscription tier for a larger monthly refresh, or purchase a credits package. Both options are available through the webshop or through your preferred reseller.
Do credits roll over to the next month?
Monthly refresh credits do not roll over. They expire at the end of each billing cycle.
Can I mix and match credit packages?
Yes. You can purchase multiple credit packages of different sizes. All package credits are added to the shared pool and can be used by any invited user.
Are there free credits to try the system?
Every trial of a Solo, Premium, or Collection offering includes 100 Chaos Credits, so you can test credit-consuming features before committing.
Do educational licenses include credits?
Yes. Educational offerings of Enscape, V-Ray, and Corona include a monthly refresh of 500 Chaos Credits. Dedicated educational credits packages are also available.
What is the difference between Named and Floating credits?
Floating
Floating credits are not tied to one specific user or computer. They sit in a shared 'pool' (a virtual pot) on the Chaos server.
How it works: As soon as a designer starts rendering, the computer automatically "grabs" a credit or license from the pool. Once the rendering is finished, the license goes right back into the pool so a colleague can use it.
The advantage: Ideal for larger teams or studios. You need fewer licenses than you have employees, because everyone is rarely hitting the render button at the exact same time.
The disadvantage: If the pool is empty (because all your colleagues are already rendering), you have to wait until one becomes available.
Named
Named credits (often linked to a Named User license) are strictly tied to one specific Chaos account (email address).
How it works: You assign a license or a bundle of credits to, for example,
support@design8.euOnly Design8 can use these credits by logging into his Chaos account. The advantage: Design8 is always guaranteed to be able to render. His credits cannot accidentally be 'gobbled up' by a colleague who quickly starts a heavy animation.
The disadvantage: It lacks flexibility. If Design8 goes on vacation for a week, his credits or license will sit idle. A colleague cannot simply access them unless the administrator manually reassigns the license to someone else in the Chaos dashboard.
